| Flexibility And You - Part 2 |
|
| I mentioned before that having greater flexibility offers benefits. Stretching is known to warm muscles and reduced the risk of injury. Stretching increases the elasticity of your joints. If you add flexibility training to your weekly workout you can reduce the risk of injury by as much as 75 percent.
Hamstring Stretching
1) Sit on the ground with both legs straight out in front of you.
2) Bend the left leg and place the sole of the left foot alongside the knee of the right leg
3) Allow the left leg to remain relaxed on the ground
4) Bend forward keeping the back straight
5) You will feel the stretch in the hamstring of the right leg
6) Repeat with the left leg
Stretching and improving flexibility also enhances your respiratory, circulatory and neuro-muscular systems which help you cope more easily with daily stress and pressures.
