| Training Day 1 & British League Weekend 3 |
|
| The British League this weekend was very interesting with many players looking in good form, this may be connected to our first training day at the club. The training day is open to all members and it was a very successful day with lots of high quality Table Tennis being played. I would seriously advise as many members as possible to make the most of the training as it is as good if not better than most international teams training days! Fantastic to see Matt Ware at the club training like all good players must, Matt has great potential and needs to be training more like this to improve and inspire other members.
Division 1
In division 1 this season we have had some mixed fortunes to date, the team plays well but not all at the same time. Results are therefore close and have often gone to our opposition. We seem to miss a real strong number 1 to push the team forward.
Division 2
A young side captained by Ashley Hayes again has had some mixed fortunes with players playing well at different times and not picking up as many points as we should have. Jake Collins has played well but Ryan Maynard and Sullivan Morais have not been out classed but have found the going hard. We look to the last weekend for some special results.
Division 3
Must be one of the youngest sides in the division and this team is really flying, under the experience of Joseph Mensah the 3 boys have been playing with great energy and true Progress spirit. Tony temperament Wilkinson at number 1 has had some great results when he is not moaning or crying and beating himself! Igor Morais and William Morais are the backbone of the team not bad for 12 & 13 years of age! The Morais boys are improving and always fight to win in true Progress fashion. Keep it up team.
Division 4
This team has had lots of players playing on different weekends. The last match of the weekend was pleasing as we managed to come away with a great victory, Kallum Reed winning a very important match to secure a 5-3 victory on his British League debut.
Keep an eye on the site for the next club training day.
