| Manager''s Report
I feel that now is an important time at the start of 2009 to contact you with regards to the rest of the season and that of the coming seasons. Now that the season is well underway we have set targets and clear expectations. Jon Kaufman did an unbelievable job and it would be crazy for me to think that I can do the job that he did.
The club is busy and is growing at a rapid rate; the work that Andries, Bhavin and Bhuwan as well as Tony have been doing, is exceptional. In terms of results, we are not at the top of the tree anymore. This for me is not the end of the world but it does feel very strange. I never expected to be at the top of the table but I have been somewhat disappointed with the commitment of some players and the performances in all divisions of the British League. Local league seems to be going in the right direction, however we need to consolidate and stay focussed on what can be accomplished.
One of my major targets of the coming months is to examine the club''s training sessions and open practice nights. With the Greenhouse partnership we are learning to cater to all members even though, at times, it?s near impossible to get a table. Thursday is club training night. When this first started it was really to focus on junior members but it has evolved and now many members join and this has been very successful and popular to date. In tandem with these sessions, I now want to organise and run quarterly training days for all British League players and for those playing in the leagues they will be compulsory. You will ne notified of the next one (normally from 9am till 4pm). If for any reason you are unable to these necessary sessions you must contact Jason or you risk being de-selected for the British League.
There will soon be some information on the club website regarding our short to medium plans. It will give some much needed information about the club and new expectations.
Club Finance
We are getting closer but and some are yet to pay their membership. These people are encouraged to come forward. Players that fail to pay will find it difficult to get a table and may fail to be selected for any teams in any league. We know playing has a lot of value to you and you should not risk being excluded especially as the fees are extremely affordable and reasonable. If you have difficulty finding the fees please get in touch with us.
Expenses
As of January the 1st 2009 only team captains will receive travel expenses. Details will be provided on request. This is a legitimate expense as they on those occasions where they take the team with them, journey calculations will assume a start and finish at the club only.
The club will cover travel costs for Junior British League players from the club only. No other travel or other expenses will be paid and travel will be as a team. Only players can be covered by expenses;
Should there be any questions or queries please contact Jason on his mobile, via e-mail or in person.
Have a SMASHING new year.
